Clearinghouse Query Plans Now Available
NOVEMBER 7, 2019 – The FMCSA just announced that employers of CDL drivers can purchase query plans in the Clearinghouse in preparation for the January 6, 2020 compliance date. These queries will enable employers and their C/TPA’s to conduct queries of their drivers’ Clearinghouse records.
Per the regulation, employers will now be required to conduct queries on all safety-sensitive drivers during the hiring process. They’ll also be required to conduct queries at least once a year on these drivers throughout their employment.

How to Purchase Queries
You can purchase a query plan by logging in to your Clearinghouse account using the username and password you created during registration. If you haven’t yet created a Clearinghouse account, you’ll need to do that first.
Once logged in, you’ll find an option to buy Query Plans by clicking on “My Dashboard.”
Please note: Employers MUST purchase their own queries. C/TPAs cannot purchase queries on their behalf.
How Much do Queries Cost?
Queries cost $1.25 each and are good for both limited and full queries. Although there are a number of different plan sizes, the cost per query is the same regardless of how many you order.
However, if you expect to conduct a high-volume of queries per year, there is an annual option. With this query plan, you can run an unlimited number of queries per year for a single charge of $24,500.
What Happens Next?
Once you’ve purchased your query plan, your C/TPA will be able to use those credits to run queries on your behalf. If you have any questions about how many queries your business will likely need next year, or if you need help with either the registration or query purchasing process, we have a Clearinghouse Taskforce that will answer your questions, review your requirements and walk you through the process.
