FMCSA Releases Phishing Email Alert
Earlier this month, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued an alert regarding phishing attempts targeting the companies it regulates.
Criminals are posing as FMCSA auditors through fraudulent emails, attempting a "fake safety audit" scam. These emails are sent to registered entities, including motor carriers, and falsely claim the need to schedule a safety audit.

FMCSA Proposes CDL Testing Changes
In an effort to get more commercial drivers on the road in less time, the FMCSA is considering making certain waivers regarding the CDL testing process permanent.
Some of the changes include allowing applicants to take a CDL skills test in a state other than their home state and eliminating the requirement for applicants to wait at least 14 days to take the CDL skills test after receiving the initial CLP.

CVSA Announces 2024 Roadcheck Focus Areas
Inspection season is coming up quickly, and that means it's time to prepare for the Commercial Vehicle Safet Alliance International Roadcheck 2024.
This year's focus areas are tractor protection systems and alcohol and controlled substance possession. The inspection process for the latter will involve checking the cab for illegal substances and alcohol, as well as running an FMCSA Clearinghouse query on the driver.
