FMCSA Removes 10 ELDs from 'Registered Devices' List

Find out if your current electronic logging device made the cut.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has recently revoked the 'Registered Devices' status of 10 additional Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), joining the 10 previously revoked devices.

Motor carriers and drivers currently using these ELDs have 60 days to replace them with compliant ones. The affected ELDs include CI ELD Logs (which was later reinstated), ELD 2 GO, ELD4Trucking, ELOG365, Golden ELD, PowerTrucks ELD, Steer Right ELD, TruckX-ELD, TST 1 ELD, and World Trucking ELD.

FMCSA stated that these ELDs were placed on the Revoked Devices list due to the providers' failure to meet the minimum requirements outlined in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A (functional specifications for ELDs), effective from December 1. 

Next Steps for Revoked Electronic Logging Devices 

Motor carriers and drivers who currently use the revoked ELDs must stop using them and switch to paper logs or logging software to record hours-of-service data.

They must also replace the revoked ELDs with compliant devices before January 30, 2024. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in drivers violating 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) and being placed out of service.
