JUNE 27, 2019 – Last week we reported on the possibility of CSA scores going public again – something that got a little more likely this week with the passing of the 2020 transportation funding package in the House of Representatives. This bill includes a rider that would require CSA scores to go public within six months – whether or not the new CSA scoring system is in place. The bill, which heads to the Senate for consideration next, also contains a rider that would eliminate the 30-minute rest break requirement.
Whether or not CSA scores go public again soon, the FMCSA is actively working on the new scoring methodology, which may go into effect within the next few months. We should be seeing more information about DOT hair testing soon, too.
